This privacy statement explains how Concargo and/or its group companies (“we”, “us”, “our”) collect information from you via the website (the “Website”) or in any manner expressly described in this privacy statement and how the information is then used.

References to “you” means the user of the Website.

Before you access concargo.comyou are agreeing to be bound by the conditions contained in these terms of use. You further agree that the judicial system of the Republic of South Africa shall have jurisdiction in respect to any dispute arising from these terms. We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of these terms at any time. Your continued use of concargo.comfollowing the posting of these changes to the terms will mean you accept those changes and further access will be governed accordingly.

Privacy Policy

Concargo(CMS) Concargo Management Service (Pty) Ltd takes care to respect the privacy of its online visitors. Information that can identify an online visitor is collected only when voluntarily offered by the visitor. Our Website does collect non-personal information from online visitors in order to track the number of visitors to the site and identify Internet information. This information allows us to continually improve our site. Information that can identify a visitor, such as name or address, is not collected in the process, nor does Concargo require disclosure of such information before allowing the user access to any portion of the site.

The material (images and text) contained in this Website is copyrighted and owned by Concargo or sanctioned by licensing and usage agreements with other intellectual property owners. All rights (including moral rights of the authors) reserved. While Concargo makes every reasonable effort to ensure that the information contained within concargo.comis correct, you should be aware that the information may be incomplete, inaccurate or may have become out of date and cannot be guaranteed or warranted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Concargo shall not be liable to any person or organization, in any manner whatsoever from the use, construction or interpretation of, or the reliance upon, all or any of the information or materials contained in the Website or inability to access the site. 

What personal data do we collect?

You may look through the Website without giving us any personal data about yourself.

If you sign up to receive our news alerts, we ask you to provide your email address.

If you wish to submit an application via the Website to join Concargo or one of its group companies, we ask you to complete an online Application Form and to submit a CV and/or other relevant information.

If you are not appointed to the role for which you apply, we will keep your completed Application Form, CV and other information on file for a reasonable period in order to contact you with alternative employment opportunities, unless you do not want us to do so. We provide you with an opportunity to opt out of the retention of your personal data for such purposes at the time of submission of your Application Form.

You may also provide us with personal data if you use the Contact Us form, which is provided on our Website to help us manage requests, or if you communicate with us in some other way.

Please note that you will be asked to provide documentation of your eligibility to work in South Africa if you are invited to attend the next stage of the recruitment process with us.

If you give us information about another person, you confirm that they have appointed you to act for them, to consent to the processing of their personal data including sensitive personal data and that you have informed them of our identity and the purposes as set out in this privacy statement for which their personal data will be processed. Where you provide information about referees, you should ensure that they have given their permission.

How do we use personal data?

We may use your personal data and information we obtain from other sources:

  • for statistical and research purposes;
  • to administer and/or improve the Website;
  • to deal with any requests submitted by you via the Contact Us page;
  • to process any job application that you submit to us via the Website;
  • to provide you with news alerts if you have signed up to the news alert service, and/or

Sensitive personal data includes data about your health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or other beliefs, political opinions, criminal records, trade union membership or sex life.

We ask you about ethnic origin and disability as part of completing the online job application process for the purposes of equal opportunities monitoring. We may also use information about a disability for the purposes of making any necessary adjustments if you are invited for interview.

Please also note that a photograph of you submitted as part of your CV may reveal sensitive personal data about you.

By providing us with your personal data, you consent to us processing your personal data, including any sensitive personal data, for the purposes set out in this privacy statement.

Cookies and IP addresses

When you visit the Website, we may log your IP (Internet Protocol) address, a unique identifier for your computer or other access device. IP addresses are used to administer the Website and to analyse trends. We do not use them to identify you.
