Company Profile
Mission Statement
We continuously strive towards being Southern Africa's leading integrated logistics services provider by remaining at the forefront through innovation, commitment, passion, integrity and service excellence. In doing so, we endeavor to add value to the business of our clients, and the overall growth of Concargo.
Corporate Governance
Concargo's business philosophy is based on a solid foundation of integrity, trust, accountability, responsibility and transparency. Reporting structures, financial procedures and systems are in accordance with global corporate governance protocols and the Companies Act.
Social Responsibility
Whilst South Africa is rich in opportunities, the business sector has a responsibility to embrace and support initiatives that can help shape a prosperous future for our country and all its people. Through its Social Responsibility Policy Concargo ensures that it contributes in a meaningful way towards meeting the social challenges facing our country.
Employment Equity
Concargo supports and complies to employment equity guidelines as prescribed by the South African government. We believe in equality and fairness in the workplace and, to this end, drafted a policy to implement and maintain. Concargo's Employment Equity policy is dual-purpose: first and foremost, it covers the advancement (through training, education and skills development) of historically disadvantaged employees and, secondly, Concargo is committed to actively recruiting suitably qualified or skilled people from historically disadvantaged backgrounds as new positions become available. Ultimately, our aim is to have a workforce fully representative of the South African community, including gender equality and on all managerial levels. Skills development is furthermore an ongoing commitment.
Procurement Policy
Concargo believes that affirmative procurement is a valuable tool in developing and sustaining Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and its contribution towards the mainstream economy. Our Affirmative Procurement Guideline therefore seeks to ensure that, wherever possible, products and services are secured from companies or organisations that are partially or wholly-owned BEE enterprises, without compromising quality standards.
In order to effectively translate this policy into meaningful and practical action, we commit to a full analysis of our discretionary and non-discretionary expenditure by EmpowerDex, the BEE rating and research agency, which allows us to set effective BEE procurement targets and to monitor progress on an ongoing basis. We have already set a target of procuring at least 30% of our total discretionary spending from BEE suppliers; a target which is monitored and reviewed periodically.
Infrastructure & Strategic Alliances
Its vast boundaries, socio-economic climate and multi-cultural diversity makes Southern Africa a very unique region in which to conduct business. To do so with a logistics partner that has a sound understanding of this uniqueness and the special challenges facing the region can indeed make all the difference. With representation in all major cities, Concargo has established an enviable infrastructure in Southern Africa. Through its divisions, various strategic alliances and Joint Ventures, Concargo is able to offer powerful supply chain solutions that can reach as far as the most remote village.
Information Technology
The technology age has empowered our modern business environment to work faster, smarter and more efficiently, thus saving time and money. The world has also become a much smaller place as technologies have become more accessible. Concargo's business model is backed by a world-class Information Technology (IT) policy, utilising the latest and most sophisticated applications available. All hardware and software is registered and in full compliance with global standards and requirements. Concargo actively develops and pursues new IT solutions to keep abreast of the latest developments, especially in the fields of E-Commerce / web-based solutions, electronic tracking systems and mobile communications.
