So you know the length, width, height and chargeable weight of your load, and you’ve just calculated the cubic metres, but now you’re wondering what the volumetric weight is?
Formula
Road Transport in South Africa:
L X W X H divided by 4000 = Volumetric Weight *
Road Transport into Africa:
L X W X H divided by 2000 = Volumetric Weight *
Airfreight Worldwide:
L X W X H divided by 5000 = Volumetric Weight *
* where L, W & H must be in centimetres

Example
Road Transport in South Africa:
(100cm x 100cm x 100cm) ÷ 4000 = 250 kg
Road Transport into Africa:
(100cm x 100cm x 100cm) ÷ 2000 = 500 kg
Airfreight:
(100cm x 100cm x 100cm) ÷ 5000 = 200 kg
